Product Overview
The Sony BRC-X1000 is a 4K PTZ remote camera for broadcast and professional AV — Sony's first 4K remote camera. It pairs a 1.0-type Exmor R CMOS sensor with a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 12x optical zoom and smooth, near-silent pan/tilt/zoom, outputting over dual-link 3G-SDI (x4) and HDMI with PoE+ and genlock. Built for unattended multi-camera operation, it suits broadcast studios, auditoriums, houses of worship, courtrooms, and large venues. The /1 is the US model.
Product Description
The BRC-X1000 captures 4K at 30p — four times the resolution of Full HD — from a 1.0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, with Full HD 60p for fast motion and a 24p mode for a filmic look. Its 1-inch sensor delivers shallow depth of field and strong low-light performance down to 1.7 lux for dim halls and theaters. A Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 12x optical zoom extends to 18x in 4K and 24x in HD via Clear Image Zoom without visible loss of detail. PTZ operation is fast and near-silent, with low-speed zoom and slow pan/tilt modes for judder-free moves, plus PTZ Trace Memory and PTZ Motion Sync for repeatable, blended transitions. Outputs include dual-link 3G-SDI (x4) and HDMI, with a genlock for multi-camera sync and dual front/rear tally lamps (front brightness adjustable in two steps). Control is via VISCA over IP, RS-422 VISCA, the supplied IR remote, or the optional RM-IP10 control unit for multiple cameras. PoE+ reduces cabling, and firmware updates are delivered over IP. This product ships to U.S. addresses only.
