The Sonance large round acoustic enclosure is a sealed back box for select 8-inch in-ceiling speakers from the Visual Performance and Visual Experience lines. The MDF cabinet improves power handling and tightens bass response by giving the driver a controlled acoustic volume rather than venting into the ceiling cavity. The unfinished wood exterior can be custom-painted to match the install environment. This enclosure is supplied as a single unit for per-speaker ordering.

Product Description

This large round acoustic enclosure addresses two common challenges in commercial in-ceiling speaker installations: inconsistent low-frequency output and acoustic isolation between spaces. By enclosing the rear of the driver in a defined MDF volume, the enclosure improves power handling and increases bass definition and clarity compared with an open-back installation. It is engineered for select Sonance 8-inch round in-ceiling speakers, including Visual Performance models VP80R, VP82R, VP86R, VP88R, VP86R SST/SUR, VP85RW, and VPXT8R, plus Visual Experience models VX80R, VX82R, VX86R, and VX86R SST. The medium-density fiberboard construction provides a rigid, non-resonant cabinet that supports consistent driver performance across the room. The enclosure ships in unfinished wood so installers can paint it to blend with the plenum or ceiling environment.
