Product Overview

The Shure UA505 Remote Antenna Mounting Bracket Kit enables 1/2 wave wireless receiver antennas to be mounted remotely—away from the receiver and away from the equipment rack—on a wall, ceiling edge, equipment stand, or other surface where line-of-sight RF coverage to transmitters is optimized. In commercial AV installations where wireless receivers are installed in enclosed or recessed racks that block direct antenna-to-transmitter sightlines, the UA505 provides the mounting hardware needed to reposition antennas without modifying the rack structure. The kit includes one mounting bracket, one BNC bulkhead adapter, and one bulkhead adapter nut; antennas and coaxial extension cables are not included and must be purchased separately.

Product Description

Rack-mounted wireless receivers in conference rooms, auditoriums, and houses of worship are frequently installed in equipment closets, back-of-room racks, or furniture-mounted AV enclosures that place the receiver antennas far from the performance area and out of line-of-sight with wireless transmitters. Without remote antenna positioning, the resulting RF path through walls, rack enclosures, and intervening structures reduces wireless range and reliability. The UA505 kit gives AV integrators a clean hardware solution for repositioning 1/2 wave antennas to a wall, ceiling tile edge, window frame, or custom AV furniture surface where antenna-to-transmitter sightlines are clear. The included BNC bulkhead adapter accepts standard 1/2 wave antennas with BNC connectors; a separate BNC coaxial extension cable (not included) runs from the antenna position back to the receiver.
