Product Overview

The Shure SBC840-US is a networked 8-bay rack tray charger for SB910 and SB920 batteries, purpose-built for Axient Digital wireless system deployments requiring centralized, high-capacity battery management. At 1.36 in. tall and 15.64 in. wide, it fits a standard 1RU rack space, making it ideal for permanent equipment rack installations in boardrooms, broadcast studios, and large commercial AV systems. Its 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port enables remote monitoring via Shure Wireless Workbench and TCP/IP integration with AMX and Crestron control systems.

Product Description

The SBC840-US charges up to eight SB910 or SB920 batteries at up to 1.25 A, reaching 50% capacity in approximately one hour and full charge in three hours. Its 1RU-compatible tray format integrates cleanly into wireless system racks alongside ADX4 receivers, making it a natural addition to any permanently installed Axient Digital commercial AV system. Storage Mode charges or discharges cells to 3.8 V for long-term battery storage, and Power Save Mode maintains charging while disabling network functionality. For smaller 2-bay deployments, the Shure SBC240 Networked 2-Bay Docking Charger handles ADX1/ADX2 transmitters directly and is available at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • 8-Bay SB910/SB920 Rack Tray Charging — Charges any combination of up to 8 SB910 or SB920 Axient Digital batteries simultaneously in a 1RU-compatible tray form factor.

  • Ethernet-Enabled Wireless Workbench Monitoring — 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port provides real-time per-bay battery health, charge percentage, temperature, and cycle count via Shure Wireless Workbench.
  • AMX/Crestron Control System Integration — TCP/IP command string access on port 2202 for integration with AMX, Crestron, and other third-party AV control platforms.
  • Storage Mode — Charges or discharges batteries to 3.8 V for optimal long-term storage; recommended for batteries unused more than 8 days.
  • Power Save Mode — Maintains charging while disabling network functionality to reduce power draw when Wireless Workbench monitoring is not needed.
