Product Overview
The Shure RPM53T/O-NC is the unterminated replacement boom arm and cable assembly for the TH53 TwinPlex omnidirectional headset in tan. Intended for audio technicians and integrators who need to terminate to a specific bodypack connector — including LEMO, MTQG/TA4F, TA5F (Lectrosonics), or Hirose 4-pin (Sony) — the no-connector version ships with a longer 96-inch (2.43 m) cable to accommodate custom routing and termination requirements. This Shure TH53 replacement boom arm is the preferred choice for rental houses, broadcast facilities, and theatrical production companies maintaining multi-system wireless inventories.
Product Description
The RPM53T/O-NC includes the complete TwinPlex dual-diaphragm capsule and 1.6 mm Plex cable assembly with bare wire ends, using a 2-wire common-source electrical design (negative polarity). The extended 96-inch (2.43 m) cable provides working length for bench termination to LEMO (WA416), Shure TQG/TA4F (WA430), Lectrosonics TA5F (WA435), or Hirose 4-pin Sony connectors. Shure-specific wiring references are documented in the TH53 user guide for each system type. The assembly restores the full TwinPlex performance of the parent headset: 20 Hz–20 kHz response, 142 dB SPL maximum, and 69.5 dB SNR. Nano-coated cable resists moisture and sweat for demanding stage and broadcast environments.
Key Features
- Unterminated for Custom Connector Fitting — Ships with bare wire ends for technician-applied termination to any professional wireless bodypack connector type, including LEMO, MTQG, TA5F, and Hirose 4-pin.
- 96-Inch Extended Cable Length — Longer than pre-terminated variants (66 in.), providing working slack for custom routing and bench termination without splicing.
- 2-Wire Common-Source Wiring — Standard electrical design compatible with LEMO, Shure TQG/TA4F, Lectrosonics TA5F, and Sony Hirose 4-pin bodypacks per TH53 wiring tables.
- TwinPlex Dual-Diaphragm Capsule — OEM omnidirectional element with flat response from 20 Hz–20 kHz, robust low-frequency extension, and 142 dB SPL handling.
- Nano-Coated 1.6 mm Plex Cable — Sweat and moisture resistant with redundant grounding and no memory effect; rated for long-term durability in high-cycle stage applications.
- Tan Finish — Matches the TH53 tan headset frame for discreet placement in theater and broadcast settings.
- Field-Switchable Boom Position — Snaps into existing TH53 frame; left/right positioning switchable per TH53 user guide procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the NC cable longer than the MTQG or MDOT versions?
The no-connector version ships at 96 inches (2.43 m) to provide working length for bench termination. Once trimmed and terminated, the effective cable length can be matched to the intended application.
Which connector should I solder to an NC cable for Shure bodypacks?
For all Shure TA4F bodypacks, use the WA430 MTQG replacement connector. For Shure LEMO bodypacks, use the WA416. For Lectrosonics TA5F bodypacks, use the WA435. Wiring diagrams are in the TH53 user guide.
Is the headset frame included?
No. This SKU is the boom arm and cable assembly only. The tan headset frame is sold separately as RPM53T-HF.
Can this be terminated for Sony Hirose 4-pin bodypacks?
Yes, with a Hirose KMC-9BPD-4P connector and the wiring configuration documented in the TH53 user guide for Sony WRT bodypacks.
