Product Overview
The Shure R184W-A is a supercardioid replacement cartridge for Microflex-series microphones in bright white finish. Its 115-degree pickup angle at -3 dB delivers focused directional capture with strong off-axis rejection, making it appropriate for conference room podiums, lecterns, and gooseneck installations where background noise isolation is required. It is compatible with MX and WL Microflex gooseneck, overhead, boundary, and lavalier models and is the white counterpart to the R184B.
Product Description
The R184W-A replaces the existing cartridge on compatible Microflex microphone bodies via a tool-free threaded swap. The supercardioid pickup pattern — with a pickup angle narrower than cardioid — reduces room noise, adjacent talker bleed, and acoustic reflections, supporting better intelligibility in commercially installed conference rooms and training spaces with active HVAC or ambient noise. AV integrators specifying white Microflex hardware for rooms where aesthetic consistency is required will find the R184W-A the correct part for maintaining polar pattern performance while matching the finish of the installed system.
