The Shure MX405/N is a 5-inch modular gooseneck microphone body with a surface-mount preamp and an LED status ring, supplied without a cartridge so integrators can choose the polar pattern that fits the room. It is designed for conference room, podium, and lectern installs where an interchangeable-cartridge approach simplifies stocking and future changes. The included surface-mount preamp supports permanent installation, and the LED ring provides clear on/mute status. CommShield technology filters RF interference common in modern AV environments.

Product Description

The MX405/N is part of Shure's Microflex modular gooseneck system and ships as a 12.7 cm (5 inch) gooseneck with surface-mount preamp and LED light ring, but no microphone cartridge. This lets AV integrators add a cardioid, supercardioid, or mini-shotgun Microflex cartridge to match each space, and standardize on a single gooseneck body across a deployment. The surface-mount preamp permanently flush-mounts the microphone to a table, podium, or lectern, and logic input/output supports remote LED and mute control through a DSP or automatic mixer. As part of the modular platform, it works with wired and wireless desktop bases for flexible conferencing installs. CommShield technology improves RF filtering against interference from nearby wireless devices. A compatible Microflex cartridge is required and sold separately.
