At the core of the IMXF5Z is a Windows compute with built-in 8-channel IntelliMix Room DSP, so acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, parametric EQ, and matrix mixing are included without requiring a separate DSP license, unlike systems that pair a bare compute with an add-on IntelliMix Room subscription. Dante inputs and outputs let integrators incorporate both Shure and third-party Dante devices, so an existing MXA710, MXA920, or MXN5W-C ceiling speaker can be routed into the same DSP without extra hardware.

The included 11-inch touch panel provides a high-resolution interface for launching and controlling Zoom Room meetings, with a USB-C content ingest port for quick laptop connections during in-room presentations. An included PoE+ switch simplifies networking and power management for connected AV peripherals, reducing the number of separate power supplies an installer needs to run in the room.
