Product Overview

The Shure AD4Q-NP is a four-channel Axient Digital wireless receiver housed in a single 1U rack unit, packaged without accessories for use as an additional receiver in an existing Axient Digital installation. It delivers the same high-performance RF and transparent digital audio as the full AD4Q kit, with Dante networking, AES67 and AES3 outputs, and support for Standard and High Density (HD) modes. The AD4Q-NP is the right choice for expanding an established commercial AV wireless infrastructure without redundant accessories, and is compatible with all Axient Digital AD and ADX series transmitters. With a tuning range up to 184 MHz per band, it supports precise frequency coordination in RF-dense venues including broadcast facilities, auditoriums, and large corporate campuses.

Product Description

The AD4Q-NP four-channel receiver extends Axient Digital wireless system capacity in a cost-efficient single rack space, making it a standard choice for integrators building out multi-zone commercial wireless deployments. Four independent channels of true digital diversity reception provide reliable dropout-free audio across all four channels simultaneously, while High Density mode maximizes channel count within a constrained spectrum allocation. Dante audio networking integrates directly into IP-based AV distribution infrastructure, reducing analog signal routing and simplifying system design for large installed AV environments. The configurable Ethernet switch supports redundant audio distribution paths, and the front-panel headphone jack enables direct Dante Cue and Dante Browse monitoring for in-rack diagnostics. Wireless Workbench 6 and ShurePlus Channels provide complete remote management. For a two-channel option, see the Shure AD4DNP Two-Channel Receiver; for the full accessory kit, see the Shure AD4QUS.

Key Features

  • Four-Channel Axient Digital Reception — Receives four simultaneous wireless channels in a single 1U chassis with true digital diversity per channel for reliable dropout-free performance.
  • High Density (HD) Mode — Supports higher simultaneous channel counts within limited spectrum, essential for large-scale installations with many concurrent wireless zones.
  • Wide Tuning Range (up to 184 MHz) — Broad frequency agility within each band supports effective RF coordination in broadcast facilities, conference centers, and government venues.
  • Dante Audio Networking — Integrated Dante distributes digital audio over standard IP networks, enabling simplified signal routing in modern rack-based AV systems.
  • AES67 and AES3 Digital Outputs — Multiple digital audio output formats ensure compatibility with broadcast consoles, DSP platforms, and networked audio systems.
  • No-Accessories Packaging (NP) — Ships without power supply or mounting accessories, suited for system expansions where these are already available on-site.
  • Configurable Ethernet Switch — 4-port switch supports redundant Dante or AES67 digital audio distribution for high-availability commercial installations.
  • Wireless Workbench 6 and ShurePlus Channels — Complete remote management of frequency coordination, RF status, and audio levels across the network.
  • Universal Axient Digital Compatibility — Works with all AD and ADX series transmitters for a fully integrated Axient Digital wireless ecosystem.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the AD4Q-NP and the AD4QUS?
Both are four-channel Axient Digital receivers with identical RF and audio performance. The AD4QUS includes cable and mounting accessories, while the AD4Q-NP ships without accessories—making it the preferred choice for system expansions where integrators already have the necessary cabling and hardware on hand.

Does the AD4Q-NP support Dante audio networking?
Yes. The AD4Q-NP includes integrated Dante audio networking with a 4-port configurable Ethernet switch, plus AES67 and AES3 digital audio outputs for integration with a wide range of professional AV and broadcast systems.

How many simultaneous wireless channels can be deployed in an Axient Digital system?
The total simultaneous channel count depends on the frequency band, RF environment, and operating mode (Standard vs. High Density). Wireless Workbench 6 includes frequency coordination tools to calculate and optimize channel counts for your specific installation.

Is a power supply required separately?
Yes. The NP variant does not include a power supply. The appropriate Shure locking AC power connector accessory (LPC) should be ordered separately for this unit.
