Product Overview

The Shure AD4D-DCTA=-C is a TAA-compliant Axient Digital two-channel wireless receiver with an integrated DC power module, operating in Band C (750–960 MHz). Delivering transparent digital audio with Dante networking, AES3 digital output, AES-256 encryption, and High Density (HD) mode in a 1U rack-mount form factor, this receiver is designed for commercial AV rack installations in government facilities, broadcast studios, and enterprise conference spaces where upper UHF wireless operation in Band C is required. The included DC power module provides redundant power connectivity for mission-critical deployments.

Product Description

The AD4D-DCTA=-C brings the full Axient Digital RF and audio platform to Band C (750–960 MHz) with TAA compliance and DC power module for power redundancy. This band covers the upper UHF range, providing approximately 210 MHz of tuning range for frequency coordination in markets where Band C spectrum is preferred or regionally available. Two independent receiver channels each deliver true digital diversity reception with 2.08 ms latency (Standard mode) and 130 dB A-weighted dynamic range on digital outputs. High Density mode supports up to 47 active transmitters per 6 MHz TV channel, enabling dense wireless microphone deployments in large commercial venues. Dante networking, AES3, AES67, and four Ethernet ports integrate directly into commercial AV IP network infrastructure managed by Wireless Workbench or AMX/Crestron control systems. The DC module accepts 10.9–14.8V DC alongside standard AC power for redundant power supply in mission-critical installations.

Key Features

  • TAA Compliance with DC Power Module — Meets Trade Agreements Act requirements for federal procurement, with DC module for redundant power in government and broadcast rack installations.
  • Two-Channel True Digital Diversity Reception — Each channel maintains a stable RF link with independent true digital diversity and cascade output to pass signal to one additional Band C receiver.
  • Band C Tuning (750–960 MHz) — Up to 210 MHz tuning range within Band C enables broad frequency coordination in upper UHF commercial AV deployments.
  • Dante, AES3, and AES67 Digital Audio Output — Multiple digital audio output formats for integration into commercial AV and broadcast IP audio networks.
  • 130 dB A-Weighted Dynamic Range (Digital Output) — Transparent audio performance on Dante and AES3 outputs for professional commercial AV systems.
  • AES-256 Encryption — Hardware encryption secures audio on all receiver channels for government and enterprise deployments.
  • High Density Mode — 125 kHz channel spacing supports up to 47 active transmitters per 6 MHz TV channel for dense commercial wireless systems.
  • 2.08 ms Latency (Standard Mode) — Low-latency digital audio path compatible with professional AV system design requirements.
  • 1U Rack-Mount Form Factor — Standard 1U integration into commercial AV equipment racks.
  • Frequency Diversity Support — Supports Combining mode with ADX2FD transmitters and Selection mode with paired AD1/ADX1 for uninterrupted audio on critical channels.
  • Wireless Workbench and Third-Party Control Integration — Full remote management via Shure Wireless Workbench, AMX, Crestron, and other IP-based control systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What transmitters are compatible with the AD4D-DCTA=-C?
All Shure Axient Digital AD and ADX series transmitters (AD1, AD2, ADX1, ADX2, ADX2FD) operating in Band C (750–960 MHz) are compatible. Verify the transmitter band matches Band C before purchasing and deploying.

What sub-bands and transmitters operate within Band C?
Band C covers 750–960 MHz. The X55 sub-band (941–960 MHz) falls within Band C, and X55 band transmitters such as the AD2TA/SM58=-X55 and AD2TA/VP68=-X55 are compatible. Consult Shure’s frequency finder tool to identify regionally appropriate sub-bands for your deployment.

What is the DC power module and why does it matter for commercial AV?
The DC module adds a secondary 10.9–14.8V DC power input alongside the standard AC supply, enabling true redundant power for the receiver. This is a standard requirement in broadcast racks, government operations centers, and enterprise conference rooms where continuous uptime is critical.

What does TAA compliance enable for procurement?
TAA compliance makes this product eligible for GSA Schedule and federal contract purchasing under the Trade Agreements Act, covering government and institutional commercial AV deployments that require Buy American compliance.

How does Dante networking work with this receiver?
The AD4D-DCTA=-C provides Dante Primary and Secondary Ethernet ports with selectable Switched or Split/Redundant networking mode. Use Dante Controller to route audio from receiver channels to any Dante-enabled endpoint on the network, including DSPs, amplifiers, and recording systems.

What warranty applies?
Shure provides a two-year limited warranty on the AD4D receiver. Contact Shure support or your authorized commercial AV dealer for service and RMA procedures.
