The AD2/B58 delivers the core Axient Digital wireless technology—stable RF, AES-256 encryption, and High Density mode—in a rugged cast aluminum handheld body with the industry-standard Beta 58A supercardioid dynamic capsule. For commercial AV integrators who need professional wireless system performance without the added cost of ShowLink, the AD2 series provides a direct path into the Axient Digital ecosystem. The transmitter supports selectable output power (2/10/35 mW), Standard and High Density operating modes, and is compatible with either Shure rechargeable SB900C batteries (up to 11 hours at 10 mW) or standard AA alkaline batteries (up to 8 hours). Capsules are interchangeable with any RPW-series Shure wireless cartridge, and the body is compatible with all Axient Digital receivers. IR Sync enables fast, automated channel setup directly from the receiver.

Both use the same Beta 58A capsule and Axient Digital RF platform. The ADX2/B58 adds ShowLink remote control (real-time parameter management from Wireless Workbench), 40 mW maximum output power (vs. 35 mW on the AD2), and uses the SB920A rechargeable battery exclusively. The AD2/B58 supports AA batteries in addition to the SB900C rechargeable, offering more flexibility in battery management for longer events.

Can the AD2/B58 use AA batteries?
Yes. The AD2/B58 accepts 2× AA alkaline batteries providing approximately 8 hours of runtime at 10 mW. Alternatively, the optional Shure SB900C rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 11 hours at 10 mW with precision metering.

What Axient Digital receivers are compatible?
The AD2/B58 is compatible with all Axient Digital receivers: AD4D (dual-channel), AD4Q (quad-channel), and ADX5D. The receiver frequency band must match the transmitter band.
