The A89LW-SFT delivers 25 dB of wind protection in harsh environments while preserving the high-frequency response of the VP89L. Developed by Shure with Rycote, it is shaped for the VP89L so it mounts securely and maintains intended polar performance. For run-and-gun broadcast, sports, and outdoor event work, the Softie is the practical choice when speed of deployment matters. For maximum protection or boom-mounted handling isolation, compare the complete A89LW-KIT windshield kit; for indoor use, the A89LW foam windscreen is sufficient.
