The A189BWS fits over the R189 mini-shotgun capsule to attenuate the wind and air noise that a directional microphone is particularly prone to capturing, including HVAC airflow and movement near the capsule. For AV integrators deploying mini-shotgun capsules in podium, ceiling, or table applications, the windscreen preserves intelligibility without altering the microphone's pickup pattern or mounting. The black version is chosen where the microphone should blend into dark hardware and furnishings; a white version (A189WWS) is available for lighter installations.
