The Sennheiser SKM 6000 is a digital high-performance handheld transmitter for the Digital 6000 series, operating in the A5-A8 US range (550–607.9 MHz). It accepts a wide selection of interchangeable capsules (sold separately) via Sennheiser's standard capsule interface and delivers the Long Range mode and SeDAC audio codec of the flagship Digital 9000, with AES 256 encryption for the world's live stages and broadcast facilities. The SKM 6000 handheld transmitter is equipped for every voice and every stage, combining the renowned Long Range mode for maximum transmission reliability with the proprietary Sennheiser Digital Audio Codec (SeDAC) from the Digital 9000 masterpiece. Link Density mode with the SePAC codec provides up to five channels per MHz for spectrum-efficient multi-channel operation, and sophisticated electronics prevent intermodulation even with many transmitters in confined spaces. Via Sennheiser's standard capsule interface, the SKM 6000 accepts microphone heads from evolution wireless G3, 2000, and Digital 9000 series as well as Neumann KK 204/205 capsules — so integrators can match the exact capsule to the application (capsule sold separately). A magnesium housing balances low weight with roadworthy construction, and the BA 60 lithium-ion pack provides up to 5.5 hours of operation (B 60 AA set also supported). AES 256 encryption secures sensitive audio. Pair the SKM 6000 with an EM 6000 receiver and a compatible capsule for a complete channel; it is also compatible with EK 6042 and EM 9046 in Long Range mode.
