The Sennheiser e 901 is a half-cardioid boundary microphone from the evolution series, designed for placement inside kick drums. Its boundary layer pickup design and optimized frequency response capture the punch and low-end of kick drum sound directly inside the shell.
Product Description
The e 901 uses a half-cardioid condenser capsule positioned to sit on the drum's resonant head surface or inside the shell, capturing the full kick drum sound at close proximity. As a boundary microphone, it takes advantage of the reflective surface of the drum shell to reinforce low-frequency capture. A switchable low-cut filter helps shape the response. Requires 48V phantom power. Connects via 3-pin XLR. Available from Creation Networks at creationnetworks.net.
