Product Overview
The Sennheiser EW-DX SK/SKM-S Base Set (V5-7) is a two-channel digital UHF wireless system built for commercial AV integrators, live production, corporate, and house of worship deployments requiring a flexible capsule-agnostic wireless platform. The set includes the EW-DX EM 2 two-channel rack receiver, one EW-DX SKM-S handheld transmitter with mute switch, one EW-DX SK bodypack transmitter, and two BA 70 rechargeable batteries. Microphone capsules are sold separately, allowing integrators to match the system to application-specific requirements. Operation in the V5-7 frequency range (941.700–959.650 MHz) requires an FCC Part 74 license.
Product Description
The EW-DX SK/SKM-S Base Set is designed for AV integrators and production professionals who require a scalable, network-ready digital wireless foundation that can be paired with their preferred microphone capsules. The EW-DX EM 2 rack receiver supports 88 MHz switching bandwidth and the SePAC codec for 1.9 ms latency and 134 dB input dynamic range across both channels — eliminating manual gain adjustment at the transmitters in mixed-use commercial environments. AutoScan deploys intermodulation-free equidistant channels automatically: up to 146 in Standard Mode (600 kHz spacing) or up to 293 in Link Density Mode (300 kHz spacing). The EW-DX SKM-S handheld features an E-Ink display that retains parameter information even when batteries are removed, and function buttons allow full settings control directly from the transmitter body. The EW-DX SK bodypack shares the same metal housing platform with in-device charging support. Both transmitters support Bluetooth-based setup and remote monitoring through the Sennheiser Smart Assist app. The system integrates with Sennheiser Control Cockpit and Wireless Systems Manager for IT-grade remote monitoring, and supports third-party AV control platforms via plug-in. The V5-7 frequency range requires a current FCC Part 74 license for US operation.
Key Features
- Capsule-Agnostic Handheld Transmitter — EW-DX SKM-S accepts a wide range of Evolution Wireless Digital microphone capsules, sold separately to match the application.
