Product Overview

The Sennheiser HME 26 (SKU 700323) is a closed circumaural broadcast headset featuring ActiveGard hearing protection and a supercardioid electret condenser boom microphone, designed for outdoor and demanding broadcast applications where condenser microphone clarity is preferred over dynamic. The on-ear closed-back design and ActiveGard limiting technology with three switchable attenuation settings provide hearing protection in high-SPL broadcast monitoring environments. Cable sold separately.

Product Description

The HME 26 circumaural variant combines the closed, supra-aural design and ActiveGard hearing protection of the HMD/E 26 platform with an electret condenser microphone for clear, intelligible voice transmission in outdoor broadcast, ENG, and production environments. The condenser microphone element provides higher sensitivity and more natural frequency response than a dynamic element, making it particularly effective for field interviews and location production where clear voice pickup at lower volumes is needed. ActiveGard is switchable with three attenuation settings. The headphone delivers frequency response suited to program audio monitoring and IFB use. Compatible with Sennheiser Cable 26-II series (sold separately). Boom wearable on left or right side.

Key Features

  • Supercardioid Electret Condenser Microphone — Higher sensitivity and more natural voice frequency response than dynamic microphone variants.
  • ActiveGard Hearing Protection — Three switchable attenuation settings (off / 95 dB / 110 dB) for hearing protection in high-SPL broadcast environments.
  • Closed Circumaural Design — Passive noise isolation for outdoor and high-ambient-noise broadcast environments.
  • Boom Wearable Left or Right — Configurable for either side without tools.
  • Cable 26-II Series Compatible — Modular connector system; cables sold separately.

Typical Applications

  • Outdoor broadcast and ENG headset communications
  • Broadcast studio program monitoring and IFB
