Most commercial AV equipment ships with rack ears, and equipment designed to be rack-mounted does not sit well on a shelf — it slides, it stresses its cabling, and it cannot be secured. On a cart that moves, those problems compound. A vertical rack bracket lets the hardware mount the way it was designed to.
Vertical orientation is what makes this work on a cart, using the depth behind the display rather than requiring a horizontal rack bay. Three rack units suits a standard room system build; the 5RU FPSA/VR/5U covers larger deployments that add DSP or amplification.
