RGBlink X8 – Modular 8K-Ready Video Wall Splicing Processor

Product Overview

The RGBlink X8 is a modular, rack-mount video wall splicing processor built for large-scale commercial AV deployments where signal flexibility and output density are critical. Designed around a card-frame SmartSlot architecture, the X8 supports up to 24 inputs and 12 outputs and is a leading choice for professional video wall processor installations in broadcast studios, command and control centers, and multi-display commercial environments. Its FPGA-based processing engine and 8K-ready input handling make it one of the most capable processors in the X Series for permanent installation integrators.

The X8 is built on RGBlink's third-generation high-performance video scaling engine, delivering precise image reproduction across mixed-signal video walls combining LED and LCD panels. The SmartSlot I/O module system accepts Quad HDMI 2.0, Quad DP 1.2, and Quad 12G-SDI input modules, with each input module supporting up to four independent 4K60 signals. Output modules support dual HDMI 2.0 at 4K60, and the upcoming HDMI 2.1 / DP 1.4 module will enable single-link 8K input. The 6+2 layer architecture allows up to six 4K layers on any output port simultaneously, with two additional overlay layers sourced from the existing input set. Any input can be independently scaled, positioned, and routed to any output — or assembled as multi-layer content across output spans. The X8 is HDCP compliant across all ports and supports full EDID management for source compatibility in complex integration environments. It is controlled natively via RGBlink XPOSE 2.0 software and supports GENLOCK/SYNC for frame-locked installations. Hot-swap I/O modules and a field-replaceable 1200W power supply module make the X8 suitable for permanent installations where uptime is non-negotiable. FCC, CE, UKCA, RoHS, and 3C certifications are on file. Sourced and supported in North America through creationnetworks.net.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

What input signal types does the RGBlink X8 support?
The X8 supports HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and 12G-SDI inputs via interchangeable quad-channel input modules. An HDMI 2.1 / DP 1.4 module is listed as a preliminary option for 8K single-link input. Each input module provides four independent ports, each capable of 4K60 resolution.
Can the X8 drive both LED walls and LCD video walls from the same chassis?
Yes. The X8 outputs are compatible with direct-view LED walls and LCD display arrays. No additional signal conversion hardware is required for either display type when using standard HDMI or DisplayPort connections.
How many simultaneous 4K sources can be displayed at once?
The 6+2 layer engine allows up to six independent 4K layers on any single output port simultaneously, with two additional overlay layers selectable from existing inputs. Across the full output span, the X8 can manage a very high total layer count depending on module configuration.
Does the X8 integrate with third-party control systems like Crestron or AMX?
The X8 is controlled natively via RGBlink XPOSE 2.0 software over LAN. Third-party control system integration is achievable via the network control interface. Consult your integration team or contact creationnetworks.net for integration support.
Can I/O modules be changed without powering down the system?
Yes. The X8 supports hot-swap replacement of all I/O modules and the power supply module, allowing module changes during operation without system shutdown — a critical requirement for installations with high uptime demands.
What warranty and support is available in North America?
The X8 is available through Creation Networks, an authorized RGBlink reseller. For warranty terms and North American technical support, contact us directly at creationnetworks.net.
What certifications does the X8 hold?
The RGBlink X8 holds FCC, CE, UKCA, RoHS, and 3C certifications, making it suitable for commercial installations in North America, the EU, and the UK.
