In a RemoteCam8 system, the RC8-HE head-end module sits in the equipment rack near the Cisco SX80, Codec Plus, or Codec Pro codec and links to the RC8-CE camera-end module at the Cisco Quad Camera over the SCTLink CAT6 STP cable. The head end provides two sets of independent 1x2 distribution-amplified HDMI outputs, a 10/100 two-port Layer 2 Ethernet switch for control expansion, and a selectable ARC/analog audio input that sends audio to the Cisco Quad Camera speaker over the existing HDMI channel. When a head-end failure is diagnosed, replacing only the RC8-HE restores full system operation while the existing RC8-CE, WPS-48 power supply, and cabling stay in place. The module is a like-for-like replacement built to the original RemoteCam8 specification and pairs directly with the installed camera-end module.
