RDL TX-VLA1 – Video Line Amplifier with Adjustable Gain and EQ
What is the RDL TX-VLA1?
The RDL TX-VLA1 is a video line amplifier for driving long cables or boosting low video signals. Adjustable gain and equalization compensate for cable losses on NTSC or PAL video.
How does it work?
Long cable runs from security and surveillance cameras reduce overall video level and attenuate high frequencies, degrading color and resolution. Installed at the camera, the TX-VLA1 can be adjusted to compensate for both losses on cables as long as 2000 ft (600 m). It is supplied with a chart of recommended starting GAIN and EQ settings for various cable lengths. The amplifier runs from a wide range of ac or dc sources, including supplies such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply. TX modules can be rack mounted with the RDL TX-RA5 racking system or the TX-HRA3 rack mount.
What are the key features?
- Adjustable gain — Video gain adjusts from unity to +5 dB to restore signal level.
- Adjustable equalization — EQ restores high-frequency detail lost in long coaxial runs.
- Long cable runs — Gain and EQ settings support video cables up to 2000 ft (600 m).
- Setup chart included — A chart provides starting GAIN and EQ settings by cable length.
- Flexible power — The amplifier operates from many available ac or dc voltage sources.
