RDL TX-VCR – Video Controlled Relay with BNC Loop-Through
What is the RDL TX-VCR?
The RDL TX-VCR provides a relay control signal based on the presence or absence of valid video. It can serve as a video-present detector or a video-loss detector.
How does it work?
The module has one BNC video input and a LOOP OUT jack, so it can be inserted in a video line or installed at the end of a line with the supplied 75 ohm terminator. Detection is based on valid NTSC or PAL sync, ignores 50 Hz and 60 Hz hum, and works with signals as weak as 0.5 V p-p. Normally-open and normally-closed relay contacts close or open when valid video is detected, and a front-panel SYNC LED confirms detection. It runs from a wide range of ac or dc sources, including supplies such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply. TX modules can be rack mounted with the RDL TX-RA5 racking system or the TX-HRA3 rack mount.
