What is the RDL TX-TPS3A?
The RDL TX-TPS3A is a three-pair audio sender for RDL Format-A twisted pair systems. It accepts three line-level sources and places them on pairs A, B and C of a single cable.
How does it work?
Each input connects through either a -10 dBV unbalanced RCA phono jack or a +4 dBu balanced detachable terminal block, and studio-quality buffer amplifiers feed the RJ45 output at the correct level. Because the TX-TPS3A uses all three signal pairs, no other sending modules may share the same cable. It can be powered locally from a 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply through the power jack or terminal block, and that power is also fed to modules connected to the output. For equipment racks, the module fits the RDL TX-RA5 racking system or the TX-HRA3 rack mount.
What are the key features?
- Three line inputs — Three sources connect using RCA jacks for -10 dBV gear or terminal blocks for +4 dBu balanced gear.
- Full Format-A output — The module drives pairs A, B and C so one twisted pair cable carries three audio channels.
- Local or remote power — It accepts power from a local 24 Vdc supply or through the twisted pair cable from other Format-A modules.
- Wiring fault protection — An automatically resetting fuse protects the power fed to connected modules.
- Power indicator — A front-panel blue LED shows that the module is powered.
