RDL TX-1W – 1 W Music-on-Hold Amplifier for Phone Systems

What is the RDL TX-1W?

The RDL TX-1W is a compact amplifier that feeds music, voice or combined program audio into the music-on-hold input of a telephone system. Its tailored response keeps on-hold audio clear for callers across a wide range of handsets and phone lines.

How does it work?

Conventional amplifiers often produce annoying artifacts at the caller's earpiece, and simple high-frequency rolloff tends to sound muffled. The TX-1W uses a spectral response characterized for telephone audio distribution, producing a lively, crisp sound without the resonances and distortion that cause listener fatigue. It accepts a -10 dBV source on a phono jack, offers -10 dB to +25 dB of adjustable gain, and provides a balanced 600 Ω transformer-driver output plus an unbalanced output up to 1 W. RDL recommends the RDL PS-24AX power supply (PS-24AS in the USA), and the module mounts with the RDL TX-RA5, RDL MB-1 or RDL PM-1T.

What are the key features?

• Telephone-tailored response — The frequency response is shaped to match the variations of telephone audio distribution.
• Adjustable level — Gain adjusts from -10 dB to +25 dB to match the source and phone system.
• Two output types — A balanced 600 Ω output drives transformer inputs, and an unbalanced output delivers up to 1 W.
• Low noise — Residual noise is below -75 dB referred to +4 dBu or 1 W RMS.
• Ultra-compact TX module — The small TX format fits in equipment closets and telephone rooms.
