What is the RDL TP-BN14?
The RDL TP-BN14 is a bi-directional Dante tabletop station that combines a shock-mounted XLR microphone input, a 2 W monitor speaker and a headphone output with four-source selection. It sends one microphone to the Dante network and lets each participant monitor a dedicated mix or choose from three or four network sources, such as language interpretation channels. RDL designed it for meeting halls, conference rooms and courtrooms, and it runs on PoE or a 24 Vdc supply.
How does it work?

The XLR microphone input is shock mounted, with automatic gain of 40 dB for condenser mics and 60 dB for dynamic mics, and P48 phantom power. A mute button toggles the microphone on and off or provides momentary muting, and an LED indicates when the mic is muted. The front-panel 2 W RMS amplified speaker monitors a dedicated Dante channel or follows the headphone selection, and a compressor/limiter prevents clipping. The headphone mini-jack delivers more than 90 mW into high- or low-impedance headphones, with single-button selection of three or four mono Dante sources and an LED for each. The upper button is set by the installer to select OFF or the speaker source. The front-panel level control is a long-life potentiometer controlling a VCA, so audio never passes through the control and adjustment stays noise-free. Installer adjustments and switch settings are on the bottom of the chassis, out of reach of participants. The TP-BN14 runs on PoE (Class 0, IEEE 802.3af) or 24 Vdc at 300 mA, with normal or hot-standby PoE operation; RDL recommends the PS-24AS (USA) or RDL PS-24AX (international) supply.
What are the key features?
- Mic to Dante — Converts a shock-mounted XLR microphone input to a Dante network channel.
- Automatic mic gain — Sets 40 dB for condenser and 60 dB for dynamic microphones, with P48 phantom.
- Mute button — Toggles the mic on and off or provides momentary muting.
- 2 W monitor speaker — Built-in speaker with compressor/limiter monitors a dedicated mix.
- Four-source headphone selection — Single-button selection of Dante sources with LED indication.
- VCA level control — Long-life front-panel control with no audio through the pot.
- Installer settings underneath — Adjustments sit on the chassis bottom to prevent tampering.
- PoE or 24 Vdc — Runs on PoE with optional 24 Vdc hot standby.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is it used for?
Delegate and participant positions in meeting halls, conference rooms and courtrooms, where each person needs a microphone and a selectable monitor feed.
Can participants choose interpretation channels?
Yes. The headphone output selects from three or four mono Dante sources, so it can carry different language translations.
Does it need gain adjustment for each microphone?
No. Gain is automatic: 40 dB for condenser and 60 dB for dynamic mics, with P48 phantom supplied.
How is it powered?
By PoE Class 0 (IEEE 802.3af) or 24 Vdc at 300 mA. RDL recommends the PS-24AS (USA) or PS-24AX (international) for 24 Vdc operation.
Can users change the installer settings?
Adjustments and switch settings are on the bottom of the chassis and are set by the installer.
