RDL ST-VP2 – Automatic Ducking Module for Paging and Music
What is the RDL ST-VP2?
The RDL ST-VP2 is an automatic ducking module that lowers background music when a page begins and restores it afterward. It wires into any line-level input of a paging amplifier.
How does it work?
The music input accepts line-level sources such as a receiver, satellite decoder or CD player, and the voice input accepts a line-level page or a preamplified microphone. When audio is sensed at the voice input, the module fades the music to the set level and fades it back up after the page. A built-in AGC compressor on the music input produces consistent levels and keeps loud music from masking the voice. Two LEDs show correct operating level for each input. It runs from a 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply, and STICK-ON modules mount in the RDL STR-19B racking system or on a rear rack rail with the RDL ST-RRB1 rear rack rail kit.
