RDL ST-GSP1 – Gated Speech Preamplifier, Mic to Line
What is the RDL ST-GSP1?
The RDL ST-GSP1 is a gated speech preamplifier that produces an automatically switched line-level signal from a microphone. It can stand alone as a voice-operated module or form part of an automatic mixing system.
How does it work?
The MIC INPUT may be wired balanced or unbalanced, and its gain range accommodates low-output dynamic microphones through higher-output condensers. A phantom voltage terminal accepts dc voltages up to 48 Vdc and is internally filtered for condenser microphones. Speech-activated gating switches the line output on fast and silently, with adjustable gain and threshold. An open-collector slave output can trigger other equipment or RDL modules. Power it from a 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX.
What are the key features?
- Speech-activated gating — The output switches on automatically when someone speaks.
- Mic to line preamplification — A wide gain range suits dynamic and condenser microphones.
- Phantom power provision — A filtered phantom terminal accepts up to 48 Vdc.
- Adjustable gain and threshold — Installers set level and gating sensitivity on the module.
- Open-collector logic output — A slave output triggers other equipment when the gate opens.
