RDL ST-CL2 – STICK-ON Line-Level Compressor/Limiter
What is the RDL ST-CL2?
The RDL ST-CL2 is a line-level compressor/limiter that maintains a constant average output level with effective peak control. It works over a wide range of input levels with minimal setup.
How does it work?
The input and output may each be wired balanced or unbalanced, and trimmers adjust for professional and consumer levels. Internal detectors feed three timing circuits that respond in sequence to signals of varying amplitude and energy. A soft-knee threshold and compression ratio adjust automatically to the program material, and two LEDs make input level setting quick. Two ST-CL2 modules can be strapped together for stereo operation. It runs from a 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply, and STICK-ON modules mount in the RDL STR-19B racking system or on a rear rack rail with the RDL ST-RRB1 rear rack rail kit.
What are the key features?
- Constant average level — The compressor holds a consistent output level across a wide input range.
- Peak control — Multi-stage gain reduction provides tight audio peak control.
- Automatic soft knee — Threshold and ratio adapt automatically to the program material.
- LED setup indicators — Two LEDs show compression range for quick input level setting.
- Stereo linking — Two modules can be strapped together through coupling terminals for stereo use.
