RDL SMB-3G – Triple Decora Surface Mount Box, Gray

What is the RDL SMB-3G?

The RDL SMB-3G is a gray powder-coated steel surface mount box that holds three Decora-style products, including RDL remote controls and connector plates. It is the clean way to add a control or input station to a block, concrete or finished wall where an in-wall back box is not practical.

How does it work?

Knockouts accept standard metric or North American conduit at the rear of the box and on either the upper or lower surface, depending on how the box is oriented. The sides and the top or bottom keep a smooth surface, giving a more finished look than a standard electrical box. RDL offers the SMB series in white, black, and gray, with gray chosen to complement RDL stainless steel plates. Every SMB box is welded steel with a high-quality powder-coated finish. For a single device, use the SMB-1G; for a portable or desktop location, consider the DC-2G chassis.

What are the key features?

• Holds three Decora devices — It mounts three RDL remote controls, connector plates or other Decora-style products side by side.
• Conduit knockouts — Rear and top or bottom knockouts accept metric or North American conduit.
• Finished appearance — Smooth sides and ends look cleaner than a standard electrical box on exposed walls.
• All-steel construction — Welded steel housing holds up in classrooms and public spaces.
• Gray powder coat — The durable finish is one of three RDL colors chosen to suit the room.
