What is the RDL SF-ND2?
The RDL SF-ND2 converts two Dante network audio channels to a left/right digital audio output on AES/EBU or S/PDIF. Audio stays in the digital domain from the network to the output, and the output sample rate matches the Dante sample rate. The module is PoE powered and needs no special software for setup. It is a clean way to feed recorders, digital mixers and broadcast equipment from a Dante network in studios, auditoriums and meeting spaces.
How does it work?

A switch selects a transformer-isolated 110 Ω AES/EBU output on XLR, a 75 Ω coaxial S/PDIF output on RCA or an optical S/PDIF output. The switch enables the matching output jack and any required electrical and data format conversion. Dante sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz are supported at 24-bit depth. A green front LED confirms valid PoE power and Dante network synchronization. Power comes from a PoE switch (Class 0, IEEE 802.3af), so no local supply is needed. The SYSFLEX all-metal enclosure is engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A. for continuous duty. It mounts free-standing, on a surface or in a rack using RDL SYSFLEX accessories such as the RDL SF-UCB2.
What are the key features?
- Two Dante channels to digital — Converts a Dante stereo pair to AES/EBU or S/PDIF.
- Three output options — Transformer-isolated AES/EBU XLR, coaxial S/PDIF or optical S/PDIF.
- All-digital path — Audio stays digital through the output at the Dante sample rate.
- No software required — The module is set up without special configuration software.
- PoE powered — One network cable carries power and audio.
Where is it typically used?
- Broadcast studio
- Auditorium
- House of worship
- Conference room
- Multi-purpose room

Frequently Asked Questions
Which digital outputs does the SF-ND2 provide?
A 110 Ω transformer-isolated AES/EBU XLR, a 75 Ω S/PDIF RCA jack and an optical S/PDIF output, selected by a switch.
What sample rates are supported?
44.1 kHz, 48 kHz (default), 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz at 24 bits. The output sample rate equals the Dante sample rate.
Does it need a power supply?
No. It runs from PoE, Class 0, IEEE 802.3af.
Is configuration software required?
No. RDL states special software is not required for module setup.
How is it mounted?
The SYSFLEX enclosure runs free-standing, surface-mounted or rack-mounted. RDL lists the SF-RA1 rack adapter, SF-UCB2 and SF-MSM1 as mounting accessories.
