What is the RDL RU-NL4?
The RDL RU-NL4 is a Dante network to line-level interface that converts four Dante audio channels to balanced +4 dBu outputs. It connects amplifiers, recorders and other analog equipment to a Dante network with professional low-noise performance. Front-panel signal LEDs for each of the four channels confirm received audio without a computer at the rack. The module is designed for equipment racks, closets, conference tables and backboards in commercial installations.
How does it work?
The RU-NL4 receives four Dante channels and converts them using 24-bit D/A conversion and RDL analog filtering. Each output provides +4 dBu balanced for a network level of -18 dBFS and interfaces directly with professional equipment without added gain. Crosstalk is below the noise floor across the audio spectrum, the noise floor is better than 80 dB below operating level, and headroom exceeds 18 dB. One green front-panel signal LED per Dante channel indicates received audio level with variable intensity. LED indicators show network sync status, and outputs mute when the digital audio inputs are inactive. The RU-NL4 is powered from an external 24 Vdc supply at 110 mA, such as the RDL-recommended PS-24AX. RDL also offers the RU-NL4P, which adds PoE with hot-standby operation from a network switch.
