What is the RDL RU-NL2P?
The RDL RU-NL2P is a Dante network to line-level interface that converts two Dante channels to balanced +4 dBu outputs. It runs from a PoE-enabled network switch or an external 24 Vdc supply, with hot-standby switchover between them. Front-panel signal LEDs show audio on each received Dante channel, which speeds setup without a laptop. It feeds amplifiers, recorders and other analog equipment from a Dante audio network in commercial installations.
How does it work?

Each output provides +4 dBu balanced for a network digital audio level of -18 dBFS and interfaces directly with professional equipment without additional gain. Conversion uses 24-bit D/A conversion and RDL analog filtering, with more than 18 dB of headroom and THD+N under 0.05%. Crosstalk is below the noise floor across the audio spectrum, and the noise floor is better than 80 dB below operating level. One green signal LED per Dante channel shows received audio level with variable intensity. LED indicators show network sync status, and outputs mute when the digital audio inputs are inactive. The RU-NL2P draws Class 0 IEEE 802.3af PoE and reserves PoE power even while running from an external 24 Vdc supply. With both sources connected, it runs from the external supply and switches over to PoE on loss of that supply. For external power, RDL recommends the PS-24AX; the RDL RU-NL2 is the non-PoE version. The all-metal enclosure is free-standing, surface-mounted or rack-mounted with the RU-HRA1 or RC-1UR.
What are the key features?
- Two Dante channels to line level — Converts two Dante channels to balanced +4 dBu outputs on detachable terminal blocks.
- PoE with hot-standby — Runs from Class 0 IEEE 802.3af PoE or 24 Vdc and fails over to PoE automatically.
- Signal LEDs — Variable-intensity LEDs show audio on each received Dante channel.
- Low noise and distortion — THD+N under 0.05% and more than 18 dB of headroom above +4 dBu.
- Auto-mute — Outputs mute when the Dante audio inputs are inactive.
- Flexible mounting — Installs free-standing, on a surface or in an equipment rack.
Where is it typically used?
- Conference room
- Boardroom
- Training room
- Auditorium
- House of worship
- Government space

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the RU-NL2P powered?
From a Class 0 IEEE 802.3af PoE switch port or an external 24 Vdc supply at 105 mA. With both connected, it uses the external supply and fails over to PoE.
What output level does it provide?
Each output delivers +4 dBu balanced for a Dante level of -18 dBFS, with more than 18 dB of headroom.
Can I see audio without a laptop?
Yes. Green front-panel signal LEDs indicate received audio on each Dante channel.
Is there a four-channel version?
Yes. RDL also makes the RU-NL4 with four Dante-to-line outputs.
How is it rack-mounted?
Use the RDL RU-HRA1 for a single module or the RDL RC-1UR universal rack chassis.
What warranty applies?
This product is covered by a 7-year RDL warranty. For warranty claims, RMAs or support, contact Creation Networks at (888) 230-3661 or sales@creationnetworks.net.
