What is the RDL RU-MX5ML?
The RDL RU-MX5ML is a five-channel audio mixer with four mic/line inputs and one line input for small meeting and presentation systems. Each mic input has switchable 24 V phantom power, and the output section provides balanced line and mic level outputs at the same time. An expansion MIX input lets several mixers be chained when more channels are needed.
How does it work?
All connections are made on rear-panel detachable terminal blocks, which suits permanent rack installations. Four inputs accept either a balanced microphone or a line source, and the fifth input is for line-level sources. Mic inputs offer up to 65 dB of gain with greater than 1.2 kΩ balanced impedance, and line inputs offer up to 15 dB of gain with greater than 10 kΩ impedance. 24 V phantom power (IEC 61938:2013) is individually switch-selectable for each mic input. Levels are adjusted from the front panel, and a dual-LED VU meter calibrated to +4 dBu shows the output level. The output section provides a +4 dBu balanced line output and a -45 dBu balanced mic-level output, and both can be used at the same time. The output of one RU-MX5ML can connect to the MIX input of another to expand mixing capacity. Power is ground-referenced 24 Vdc at 75 mA, or 120 mA maximum including phantom; RDL recommends the PS-24AS (USA) or PS-24AX (international) power supply, not included. Mount it with the RC-1UR 1RU rack chassis, RU-HRA1 10.4-inch rack mount or RU-SMA1 surface mounting plate.
