What is the RDL RU-MX4LT?
The RDL RU-MX4LT is a four-channel line-level audio mixer that combines balanced XLR and unbalanced phono sources into one balanced output. This version adds a factory-installed output isolation transformer on the balanced output. Per-channel VU meters and an LED string mix meter make level setting fast in rack-mounted AV systems.
How does it work?
Each of the four inputs accepts either a balanced XLR line-level source or an unbalanced phono jack source. Balanced inputs are 20 kΩ bridging with an input range of -13 to +22 dBu, while unbalanced inputs accept -25 dBV to +20 dBV for +4 dBu output. Front-panel controls set each channel level, with up to 17 dB of gain on balanced inputs and 27 dB on unbalanced inputs, plus an output attenuator. Every input has a dual-LED VU meter that follows standard VU ballistics, and the final mix is shown on an LED string meter with an arc motion. The balanced 150 Ω output runs at +4 dBu and switches to mic level (-45 dBu) when needed, and an unbalanced -10 dBV LINE OUTPUT is also provided. The unbalanced output can feed the DIRECT input of another RU-MX4L or an RU-MX4 to expand the number of channels. The RU-MX4LT includes a factory-installed output isolation transformer. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 30 kHz (±0.25 dB), and the module runs from ground-referenced 24 Vdc at 150 mA; RDL recommends the PS-24AS (USA) or PS-24AX (international) power supply, not included. Mount it with the RC-1UR 1RU rack chassis, RU-HRA1 10.4-inch rack mount or RU-SMA1 surface mounting plate.

No. It is a line-level mixer. For microphones, use an RDL mic/line mixer or preamplifier ahead of it.
