What is the RDL RU-LB4P?
The RDL RU-LB4P is a 4 x 4 line-level Dante network interface that converts four balanced or unbalanced line sources to Dante and four Dante channels to +4 dBu balanced outputs. Front-panel gain trimmers with dual-LED VU meters on every input make level matching quick without a computer. It runs on PoE with optional 24 Vdc hot standby, in an all-metal Rack-Up enclosure for racks, closets, tables and backboards.
How does it work?

Each input accepts the full range of unbalanced -10 dBV and balanced +4 dBu line-level sources, with an input range of -16 dBu to +12 dBu and more than 18 dB of headroom. A front-panel gain trimmer and dual-LED VU meter on each input set an operating level that preserves full headroom with the lowest noise floor. On the output side, four Dante channels are converted to +4 dBu balanced for -18 dBFS, so they interface directly with professional and commercial equipment without extra gain. Crosstalk between outputs is below the noise floor across the audio band, and the noise floor is more than 80 dB below operating level. Green signal LEDs show the level of each received Dante channel, which helps setup when no networked computer is at the rack. The RU-LB4P runs from a PoE switch (Class 0, IEEE 802.3af); when an external 24 Vdc supply is also connected it runs from that supply and switches to PoE if the supply is lost. RDL recommends the PS-24AS (USA) or RDL PS-24AX (international) supply for standby power. Mounting options include the RU-SMA1 mounting plate, RU-BR1 bracket, DRA-35R DIN rail adapter, RU-HRA1 rack mount and RC-1UR rack chassis.
What are the key features?
- 4 x 4 line-level Dante I/O — Four line inputs to Dante and four Dante channels to balanced line outputs in one module.
- Front-panel gain trims — Each input has a gain trimmer for precise level matching.
- Dual-LED VU meters — Per-input metering shows the correct operating level at a glance.
- Balanced or unbalanced sources — Inputs accept -10 dBV unbalanced or +4 dBu balanced line levels.
- +4 dBu outputs — Balanced outputs drive professional equipment directly with more than 18 dB of headroom.
- Low noise and crosstalk — Output noise is better than 80 dB below operating level, with crosstalk below the noise floor.
- PoE with hot standby — Runs on PoE alone or with a 24 Vdc supply and automatic failover.
- Rack-Up mounting — Free-standing, surface, DIN rail or rack mounting with RDL Rack-Up accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sources can it accept?
Balanced +4 dBu or unbalanced -10 dBV line-level sources, with an input range of -16 dBu to +12 dBu and +22 dBu maximum.
How do I set input levels?
Use the front-panel gain trimmer on each input while watching its dual-LED VU meter.
How is it powered?
By PoE Class 0 (IEEE 802.3af), an external 24 Vdc supply at 140 mA plus loads, or both with automatic failover to PoE.
Does it accept microphones?
No. The RU-LB4P is a line-level interface. RDL's RU-MLB4P adds microphone inputs with phantom power.
How is it mounted?
It is a Rack-Up module for free-standing, surface, DIN rail or rack mounting with RDL Rack-Up accessories.
What warranty does it carry?
RDL's product page does not list warranty terms for this model. Contact Creation Networks at (888) 230-3661 for current warranty and support details before you order.
