What is the RDL HD-PA35U?
The RDL HD-PA35U is a 35 W RMS single-input amplifier with a 4 or 8 ohm speaker output, designed as a single-zone amplifier for energy-efficient commercial systems. It includes bass and treble controls, a VCA-controlled master volume with remote adjustment, and an analog compressor/limiter that keeps peaks clean. An automatic sleep mode drops consumption below 1 W, meeting Energy Star Version 2.0 audio/video requirements, and the power supply is included.
How does it work?
The HD-PA35U can be fed from a variety of RDL or OEM mixers, or add zones to a mix from another RDL HD series mixer amplifier. Unbalanced stereo sources connect on RCA jacks and are summed to the single amplifier channel. The output delivers 35 W RMS into 4 ohms or 32 W into 8 ohms on a detachable terminal block, with impedance set by a rear-panel switch. A front-panel control sets input gain, and bass and treble controls adjust equalization at the output. Output level can be VCA controlled from optional RDL remote controls or industry-standard 0 to 10 Vdc or 0 to 10 kΩ controls through a rear-panel RJ45 jack. The analog compressor/limiter keeps audio unclipped for input overloads of up to 20 dB, and a red LED flashes when it is preventing clipping. Raising the input gain lets the compressor substantially increase average output beyond a standard 35 W amplifier. Rear-panel DIP switches set the sleep delay from 10 minutes to 2 hours in 10 minute increments, or disable sleep for continuous operation. Soft-start switching protects the output from clicks and pops during power-up and power-down. A blue POWER LED is dim in standby and bright when active, and a front-panel pushbutton switches between standby and active modes. The amplifier is engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A., and mounts with RDL HD series accessories such as the RDL HD-RA2 rack adapter or RDL HD-WM1 wall mount.
