RDL FP-UBC2 – 2-Channel Unbalanced to Balanced Converter
What is the RDL FP-UBC2?
The RDL FP-UBC2 is a two-channel unbalanced-to-balanced audio converter in the compact FLAT-PAK format. It brings consumer -10 dBV sources such as media players and computers up to +4 dBu balanced levels for mixers, DSPs and amplifiers in commercial AV systems.
How does it work?
Each channel accepts an unbalanced input on a gold-plated phono jack and drives a balanced XLR output. At the marked normal trim setting, a -10 dBV input produces a +4 dBu balanced output, and the trim adjusts gain from -5 dB to +10 dB, so +4 dBu is possible from inputs between -20 dBV and -5 dBV. The 150 ohm balanced output drives 600 ohm or 10 kohm lines with greater than 18 dB headroom. The module runs from ground-referenced 24 Vdc such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply and mounts with the RDL FP-RRA 19 in. rack adapter, the FP-HRA 10.4 in. rack mount or the DRA-35F DIN rail adapter.
