What is the RDL FP-TPSR4A?
The RDL FP-TPSR4A is a combined Format-A sender and receiver that interfaces a hotel room television with listening stations and audio input panels. It distributes TV audio over twisted pair and returns guest-device audio to the TV and room amplifier, making it a core building block of hospitality guest room audio systems.
How does it work?
The sender section accepts unbalanced stereo line level or a 1 to 3 W mono amplified fixed-level signal, usually from a hospitality TV, and sends it on Format-A pairs B and C to two RJ45 outputs. The receiver section takes an RJ45 input from senders such as the RDL D-TPS8A stereo input panel and outputs left and right audio on two -10 dBV RCA pairs, one for the TV AUX input and one for a room stereo amplifier. Usually mounted behind the TV where AC power is available, it is powered by a separately available 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply, which also powers the connected sending and receiving modules through an automatically resetting fuse. Mount it with the RDL FP-RRA 19 in. rack adapter, the FP-HRA 10.4 in. rack mount or the DRA-35F DIN rail adapter.
