What is the RDL EZ-AFC2?
The RDL EZ-AFC2 is a stereo bi-directional audio format converter that bridges consumer RCA equipment and professional balanced XLR systems in one unit. With level controls and LED VU metering, it fully converts both the stereo input and output of a consumer device, making it useful in houses of worship, studios, sound booths and commercial sound systems.
How does it work?
The unbalanced-to-balanced section takes -10 dBV stereo on front-panel RCA jacks and outputs +4 dBu on rear-panel XLR jacks, while the balanced-to-unbalanced section converts +4 dBu XLR inputs to -10 dBV RCA outputs. Each section has front-panel level knobs offering off to 12 dB gain above nominal, and dual-LED VU meters for left and right make it easy to set high or low input levels. Gold-plated connectors and a 10 Hz to 50 kHz response preserve audio quality with exceptional headroom. The 1/3 rack width unit runs from 24 Vdc, such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply, and mounts in the RDL EZ-RA6 rack adapter, EZ-CC6 component chassis or on a desk with the EZ-DC2 desktop chassis.
