What is the RDL EU-NVC2?
The RDL EU-NVC2 is a Dante/AES67 network volume control that adjusts and mutes one or two network audio channels from a rotary knob and full-color LCD, built for European junction boxes. Audio is routed through the EU-NVC2, attenuated digitally, then sent to a network destination such as a power amplifier. It is PoE powered and fits a 60 mm deep EU junction box with the included 45 x 45 mm adapter plate.
How does it work?
One or two mono sources, or one stereo source, are routed to the EU-NVC2 and then on to a network destination, typically a power amplifier. Level adjustment is performed digitally inside the unit in 1 dB steps from 0 to 63 dB, then mute. The installer can sum a stereo source to mono so the mono mix feeds both outputs, and the menu lets users adjust output A, output B or both together. Channel names and the menu default are set in RDL CONSOLE software. The VOLUME screen shows level as segments in a circular pattern, and the detented encoder includes programmable acceleration for fast reductions during feedback. A short knob push mutes or unmutes, while a long push opens the menu. Functions can auto-lock after a programmable inactivity timeout with an installer passcode. RDL notes bandwidth typically supports up to four remote controls per zone, and an RDL D-NMC1R or RDL D-NLC1R can remotely control it.
