What is the RDL DS-TPS3A?
The RDL DS-TPS3A is a stainless steel three-pair audio sender for RDL Format-A twisted pair systems. It combines a phantom-powered XLR microphone input with two -10 dBV RCA line inputs in one Decora-style wall plate.
How does it work?
The microphone preamplifier feeds pair A while the left and right line inputs feed pairs B and C, so the module uses all three Format-A audio pairs. The XLR input supplies 24 Vdc IEC phantom for condenser or dynamic microphones, and a rear-panel GAIN switch selects NORM or HIGH gain. Because it drives every audio pair, the DS-TPS3A cannot be chained with other sender modules on the same cable. It mounts in RDL WB-1U and WB-2U wall boxes or standard U.S. electrical boxes, such as the RDL WB-1U wall box. Power can arrive through the twisted pair cable or locally from a 24 Vdc supply like the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply, and local power is fused and fed to all connected modules.

- Mic and stereo line inputs — A balanced XLR mic input with phantom plus two unbalanced RCA line inputs cover presenters and playback sources at one plate.
- All three Format-A pairs — Mic feeds pair A, left feeds pair B and right feeds pair C for full stereo plus voice over a single cable.
- Switch-selectable mic gain — A rear-panel switch sets NORM or HIGH preamp gain to suit expected microphone levels.
- Remote or local power — The module accepts power through the twisted pair cable or from a local 24 Vdc terminal block input.
- Stainless steel faceplate — The stainless construction matches RDL Decora-style stainless remote controls in commercial installations.
