RDL DS-RCS4 – 4-Channel Remote Source Selector, Stainless Steel
What is the RDL DS-RCS4?
The RDL DS-RCS4 is a stainless steel Decora-style remote channel selector for stepping through four sources on RDL control modules such as the RACK-UP RU-SX4A audio selector. It is the right choice when sources are selected from one or several wall locations and users need a visual display of the active input.
How does it work?
The momentary pushbutton sends a stepping signal (SEL, 15 Vdc at 5 mA) back to the RDL control module, and each press advances to the next input. Audio is muted during stepping to avoid bursts of sound. Four green LEDs show the selected channel and a red LED indicates that no channel is selected, driven directly from the selector module over the detachable terminal block. The panel requires a ground-referenced 24 Vdc supply at 25 mA; RDL recommends the PS-24AX power supply (international) or PS-24AS (USA).
What are the key features?
- Single-button stepping — One pushbutton advances sequentially through four sources on the connected RDL selector.
- Five-LED status display — Green LEDs mark each selected channel and a red LED shows when none is selected.
- Muted switching — Audio is muted during stepping so listeners do not hear switching bursts.
- Multiple control locations — Several panels can control and indicate the same selector from different rooms or walls.
- Wall box mounting — The panel mounts in a US electrical box or RDL WB-1U or WB-2U wall box.
