RDL DB-SH1 – Decora Stereo Headphone Amplifier, Black
What is the RDL DB-SH1?
The RDL DB-SH1 is a stereo headphone amplifier on a Decora-style panel with a user level control. It drives headphones of any impedance from consumer or professional audio sources in language translation, museum, interview studio and retail listening applications.
How does it work?
The DB-SH1 is a dual-channel amplifier with balanced or unbalanced left and right inputs that accept operating levels between -20 dBV and +20 dBu. Two recessed slide switches on the rear enclosure set input sensitivity and select stereo or mono operation, with the left input driving both outputs in mono mode. The front-panel level control is a long-life potentiometer controlling matched VCAs. The DB-SH1 has a black front-panel laminate for darker wall finishes and AV furniture. Power it with RDL's recommended 24 Vdc supply, such as the RDL PS-24AX power supply (the international version of RDL's recommended 24 Vdc supply), and mount it in an RDL WB-1U wall box or a precut panel opening.
What are the key features?
- VCA level control — A long-life front-panel control adjusts matched VCAs for scratch-free stereo level changes.
- Balanced or unbalanced inputs — Inputs accept levels from -20 dBV to +20 dBu from consumer or professional sources.
- Selectable sensitivity — A rear slide switch sets input sensitivity before the module is mounted.
- Stereo or mono mode — A mode switch lets the left input feed both channels in monaural systems.
- Any-impedance headphone drive — The amplifier drives both high and low impedance headsets.
- Decora mounting — The panel fits wall boxes, enclosures and RDL mounting accessories.
