What is the RDL DB-J3M?
The RDL DB-J3M is a Decora-style mic/line input panel assembly in a black finish with a female XLR microphone jack and a stereo 3.5 mm mini-jack on one plate. It gives presenters a wall input for both a microphone and a laptop or media player, with a balanced mono line output on the rear terminal block.
How does it work?
The gold-contact XLR is wired directly to the rear-panel barrier block for connection to a mic input. The mini-jack accepts mono or stereo consumer-level sources; left and right are combined and balanced through audio transformers configured to reject induced hum. The resulting line-level output is designed to feed module or equipment inputs of 10 kΩ or higher, with a line-input frequency response of 30 Hz to 20 kHz (±1 dB). The assembly is passive and finished with a labeled metal rear enclosure. Mount it in a standard US single-gang electrical box, an RDL WB-1U back box, an SMB-1B surface mount box, a DC-1B desktop chassis, or an RM-D3 19-inch rack panel.

- Transformer isolation — Audio transformers balance the unbalanced line input and reject induced hum.
- Balanced mono output — Stereo sources are summed to a balanced mono line output for the downstream mixer or DSP.
- Passive operation — No power is required, and the line input is specified at 30 Hz to 20 kHz (±1 dB).
