RDL DB-HA1A – Format-A Stereo Headphone Amplifier – Black
What is the RDL DB-HA1A?
The RDL DB-HA1A is a Decora-style Format-A stereo headphone amplifier in black that receives audio and power over twisted-pair cable. It is suited to hotel guest room installations with bedside and restroom listening stations.
How does it work?
The DB-HA1A receives stereo audio and 24 Vdc power through a rear-panel RJ45 jack fed from an RDL Format-A sender. Left and right audio on pairs B and C is amplified and fed to a front-panel 3.5 mm mini-jack, with a single-turn user volume control. Output is 25 mW per channel into 100 ohms with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 40 kHz (±1 dB). There are no illuminated indicators to distract users in dark rooms such as a hotel room. A second RJ45 jack loops through to additional receivers, and power is protected by an automatically resetting fuse.
What are the key features?
- Format-A twisted-pair input — Audio and power arrive on one standard twisted-pair cable from any RDL Format-A sender.
- User volume control — A single-turn front-panel knob lets listeners set their own level.
- 3.5 mm headphone output — The standard mini-jack delivers 25 mW per channel into 100 ohms.
- RJ45 loop-through — Either RJ45 jack can be the input while the other feeds another Format-A receiver.
- No distracting indicators — The front panel has no lights, which suits dark guest rooms.
- Steel Decora design — An all-steel panel and rear enclosure mount in a wall or cabinet.
