RDL D-TPR3A – Format-A 3-Pair Receiver, XLR and RCA
What is the RDL D-TPR3A?
The RDL D-TPR3A is a three-pair Format-A twisted pair audio receiver that delivers a balanced XLR output and two RCA phono outputs at a wall plate. Finished with a white front-panel laminate with gray lettering, it lets users connect mixers, recorders or consumer gear to audio distributed over twisted pair cable in conference rooms, classrooms and event spaces.
How does it work?
Audio from pair A of the RJ45 input feeds the XLR jack, which is set to mic or line level during installation with a rear-panel switch. Pairs B and C are buffered to drive the left and right RCA jacks at the standard -10 dBV consumer level. Bridging inputs allow up to 10 receivers on each cable pair, so additional receivers can share the same feed. The module may be powered locally from a 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply on its detachable terminal block, which also feeds connected remote modules, or remotely through the twisted pair cable from another Format-A module or the RDL FP-TP4PW power inserter. It mounts in the RDL WB-1U wall box or a standard U.S. electrical box, and a blue LED shows the module is powered.
What are the key features?
- Three outputs from one cable — A balanced XLR output and two -10 dBV RCA outputs are fed from Format-A pairs A, B and C.
- Mic or line XLR level — A rear-panel switch sets the XLR output to -45 dBu mic level or +4 dBu line level.
- Remote or local power — The module runs from the twisted pair cable or from a local 24 Vdc supply that also feeds connected modules.
- Bridging inputs — Up to 10 receivers can share each Format-A cable pair for flexible routing designs.
- Studio-quality balanced circuitry — Precision active balanced circuitry delivers greater than 18 dB headroom above +4 dBu.
