What is the RDL D-SH1?
The RDL D-SH1 is a stereo headphone amplifier on a Decora-style panel with a user level control. It drives headphones of any impedance from consumer or professional audio sources in language translation, museum, interview studio and retail listening applications.
How does it work?
The D-SH1 is a dual-channel amplifier with balanced or unbalanced left and right inputs that accept operating levels between -20 dBV and +20 dBu. Two recessed slide switches on the rear enclosure set input sensitivity and select stereo or mono operation, with the left input driving both outputs in mono mode. The front-panel level control is a long-life potentiometer controlling matched VCAs. The D-SH1 has a white front-panel laminate with gray lettering that matches RDL Decora-style remote controls. Power it with RDL's recommended 24 Vdc supply, such as the RDL PS-24AX power supply (the international version of RDL's recommended 24 Vdc supply), and mount it in an RDL WB-1U wall box or a precut panel opening.

- Stereo or mono mode — A mode switch lets the left input feed both channels in monaural systems.
- Any-impedance headphone drive — The amplifier drives both high and low impedance headsets.
- Decora mounting — The panel fits wall boxes, enclosures and RDL mounting accessories.
