RDL AMS-XLRMA – Mic/Line XLR Output with Phantom Block
What is the RDL AMS-XLRMA?
The RDL AMS-XLRMA is a male XLR output connector with a selectable mic/line attenuator and phantom voltage protection. It lets a line-level source feed a microphone input safely from a custom AV panel.
How does it work?
The AMS-XLRMA is a metal male XLR connector with a high-quality terminal block for audio connections, a switch-selectable attenuator and protection from phantom voltage up to 55 Vdc. It mounts in RDL AMS mounting frames such as the RDL AMS-HR6, in RDL Decora-style connector plates such as the RDL D-D1 and RDL D-D2, and in standard D-style cutouts. The Unity/Attenuated switch provides a nominal 50 dB of attenuation to feed the mic input of a mixer-amplifier or other equipment with mic inputs. At unity, the AMS-XLRMA simply blocks phantom voltage from reaching the equipment feeding its terminal block.
What are the key features?
- Selectable Attenuation — A Unity/Attenuated switch provides a nominal 50 dB pad to drive a microphone input from a line-level source.
- Phantom Voltage Block — The XLR connector is protected from phantom voltage up to 55 Vdc.
- Male XLR Output — A metal male XLR connector delivers the output to mixer-amplifiers and other equipment.
- Terminal Block Wiring — A high-quality terminal block provides the audio input connections.
- AMS and D-Style Mounting — The connector fits all RDL AMS mounting frames, RDL Decora-style wall plates and standard D-style cutouts.
