The PSU cable kit is matched to the Poly USB device interface. This kit is ideal for AV integrators deploying Poly Studio or Poly X-Series bars as peripheral USB cameras in conference rooms and multi-purpose meeting spaces.
Product Description
When operated in Device Mode, the Poly Studio, Poly X30, and Poly X50 function as USB cameras and speakerphones connected to a host computer or third-party codec. The RCU2S-PSU extends this USB device connection up to 300 feet over a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable run, using a Head End (HE) at the codec or host and a Camera End (CE) at the Poly bar location. The PSU cable kit provides the correct USB connections for these Poly devices.
Power delivery at the camera end supports 5V and 12V DC, and the bi-directional audio channel enables audio signal transport between the Poly bar and the head end — critical for speakerphone functionality in Device Mode deployments. UVC compliance ensures the Poly device is recognized as a standard USB video device by any USB 2.0 host without proprietary drivers. This makes the RCU2S-PSU compatible with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco or Poly codec platforms accepting USB peripherals.
The RCU2S-PSU provides a clean installation path for rooms where the Poly collaboration bar needs to be placed at the table or display wall while the host codec is rack-mounted at distance. Replacement modules (RCU2S-CE and RCU2S-HE) are available separately.
