The RCU2S-EA8 extends all required signals for AVer PTZ camera installations over a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable run up to 300 feet. The Head End (HE) connects to the codec or host and RS-232 control output; the Camera End (CE) connects to the AVer camera via the EA8 cable kit. The RS-232 control loop is bidirectional, enabling PTZ control commands from the codec or control system and returning feedback where supported.

Power delivery supports 5V and 12V DC at the camera end, eliminating a separate local power supply. The bi-directional audio channel carries microphone or intercom signals.
